Welcome to the “Road To Recovery”

WHO SHOULD COME?

Adults only. Anyone and everyone. We are all sinners. Christian or non-Christian. Do you struggle with drug addiction or alcoholism? This is for you. Who else? Anyone with hurts, hang-ups, and habits. We all need to celebrate our recovery from the world’s grip on us. Gambling, pornography, shopping, all of it. Bring your struggle and we will find freedom together. Also, whether you’ve been sober for a day or decade—come on in!

You may have come to our ministry because of a friend’s recommendation. Maybe you are here because you saw a flyer or heard an announcement here at our church. Regardless of why you decided to attend, we are SO glad you are here. Our CR meets at Mountain Valley Church of God every Friday night at 6pm. All Adults are welcome. No registration required.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • FREE DINNER STARTS FRIDAYS AT 6PM, Currently Childcare NOT Provided
  • 6:30PM Greeting, Opening Prayer, Worship Music, Recovery Steps/Principles Review
  • 6:45PM Weekly Lesson and/or Testimony, Serenity Prayer
  • 7:10PM Open Share Small Groups (see small group guidelines below)
  • 7:50PM Wrap-Up, Prayer Requests, & Closing Prayer
  • 8:00PM Closing Worship Music (if time permits)

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place for anyone struggling with anger, shame, codependency, hurts, pain, or addiction of any kind. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step program where people can find community and freedom from hurts, habits, and hang-ups that are making their life challenging.

We are very excited you have decided to come here on a Friday night! One of the most beneficial things anyone can do is stick around for our Small Groups—separated into both Men’s & Women’s Groups. We want to provide a secure environment in our Small Groups that keep you coming back! That is why we use the following five guidelines. These guidelines ensure your group experience will feel safe and supported.

Small Group Guidelines:

  1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
  2. There will be NO cross-talk. Cross-talk is when two individuals engage in conversation excluding all others. Each person sharing is free to express feelings without interruptions.
  3. We are here to support one another, not “fix” one another.
  4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.
  5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.

How We Find Recovery

Your struggle is important to us, and we look forward to walking with you on your unique recovery journey.

Through a relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Higher Power, and by working through the 8 recovery principles and the Christ-centered 12 steps, we can find freedom from our hurts, hang ups and habits.
